Monday marked the beginning of a special week for the United Way of Central Indiana. Fifteen temporary workers joined the United Way’s staff for the kick off of the seasonal campaign to encourage volunteering and getting active in the community. A series of events will take place throughout the rest of the week in Morgan, Hendricks, Hancock, Hamilton, Boone, and Marion counties. Ellen Annala is the president and CEO of United Way of Central Indiana.
Annala says the “loaned executives” who will serve as temps for United Way will stick around through November to drum up donations and encourage people to volunteer. The week also includes a charity golf event, ISTEP prep help, and a Thursday night simulcast of a show featuring Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy.
