Home sales are up in Indiana, according to Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors and the Indiana Association of Realtors.
New data released Monday shows the housing market in Central Indiana continues to improve. The report from the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors and the Indiana Association of Realtors reveals closed home sales between March and May increased by 15.8 percent over the same period last year. In May alone, closed sales increased by 18.6 percent.
The report also shows a 6.1 -percent increase in average home sale price. The average in Indiana is now $144,442.
The executive director of the Indiana Association of Realtors credits demand and low interest rates for the improving housing market.
