Indiana House Democrats will return to the state Monday evening.  House Speaker Brian Bosma said he spoke with Minority Leader Pat Bauer just before taking the podium for the roll call today, and Bauer told him the Democrats would return to conduct business by 5 P.M.

“Gave me his pledge that they would work in good faith to try and wrap this session up in regular time and deal with the important issues that face the taxpayers,” said Bosma.

Bauer says Democrats feel there are enough concessions to return for now.

“We won a battle, but we recognize the war goes on,” said Bauer.

Bauer said educating the public on the Republican agenda made the walkout worth the effort.  Meanwhile Bosma said it will take an extraordinary effort to complete all legislative business before the end of the session, making a special session more likely.
