IU has faced Indiana State five times, all in Bloomington, and walked away with a victory each time.

Coach Kevin Wilson says the team isn't overlooking Indiana State on Saturday. "We got a lot of respect for them. It's Indiana guys, Indiana, Indiana State, Terre Haute. I think we're excited."

Preseason football camp is over which means no more talking about IU football for head coach Kevin Wilson, it’s time to play the game.

“We have 350 returning starts, guys that started games 350 times. There is a lot of experience. It’s the most in the Big Ten, one of the most in the country. I think our preparation through all our phases has been pretty good, going back to winter, including the recruiting process and the way that went down for us,” says Wilson.

“Spring ball and the way we came out of spring with the new implementation of a defensive scheme, a lot of guys competing, fighting, getting guys that were nicked up healthy and back.”

IU opens the season hosting Indiana State Saturday at noon. The Hoosiers return 18 starters from 2013, including eight on offense, nine on defense and one on special teams.

New features at the stadium this year include a large 200 foot “ribbon LED board” on the north end zone façade. The gravel lot northwest of the stadium is now paved and includes eight acres of green space.

Athletic officials warn of heavy traffic around the stadium on game day. One-way traffic patterns go into effect two hours before kickoff.
