Four Hoosiers Make Forbes 400 Richest People List

Four Hoosiers, including the Cook Group co-founder and the Indianapolis Colts owner, are appearing on this year's Forbes 400 Richest People in America list.

    Each year, Forbes ranks the 400 richest people in the United States.

    Jim Irsay was named #342 on Forbes 400 Richest People in America list.

Four Hoosiers have made it on this year’s Forbes 400 Richest People in America list.

All four were also on last year’s list, although several have risen to a higher rank as their wealth has increased.

#85 Gayle Cook - net worth $5.2 billion

Cook is the co-founder of the medical device manufacturer Cook Group, and was the wife of the late-Bill Cook. Cook is 79 years old, lives in Bloomington, Ind., and was ranked #102 on the Forbes 2012 list.

#293 Herbert Simon - net worth $1.95 billion

Simon, 78, is the Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Simon Property Group, Inc., which is known for its investment in shopping malls. Simon ranked #218 on the Forbes 2012 list.

#296 Dean White - net worth $1.9 billion

Ninety-year-old White inherited his money from his dad’s billboard company and has since invested in hotels and real estate. The Crown Point resident was ranked #271 on the Forbes 2012 list.

#342 Jim Irsay - net worth $1.6 billion

Irsay, 54, is the Indianapolis Colts owner and resides in Carmel, Ind. He inherited his wealth from his father, who owned the then-Baltimore Colts. Irsay ranked #311 on the Forbes 2012 list.
