The Indiana Association of Realtors is touting good news on the home sales front. The group says the statewide housing market performed better in the first quarter of this year than in recent years.
The Indiana Real Estate Markets Report shows closed home sales up 15 percent, median sale prices of those homes up three percent and the number of pending sales increased by 15.7 percent. The report also shows the number of new listings up 1.8 percent. The group says buyers are jumping back into the marketplace.
The report comes as IAR kicks off the most active season for residential real estate. IAR is taking part in the nationwide Open House Weekend April 28 and 29. The campaign encourages prospective buyers to check out what‘s on sale in their own communities.
