The worst flooding seen in the state since 1913 hit the central and southern parts of Indiana the hardest, particularly the heart of WFIU’s listening area: Columbus, Martinsville and Terre Haute. WFIU reported for more than two weeks on how emergency responders were fighting rising water, how cities were housing the hundreds of people displaced from their homes (including the family of one WFIU reporter) and how Hoosiers were banding together to get through one of the worst natural disasters any of them had seen.
