Residents Trying to Fight the High Temperatures

What are you doing to fight the heat? The temperature today is in the lower 90’s, but the heat index rose as high as 101 degrees according to the National Weather Service.

People in Bloomington found different ways to beat the heat, including Musician, Austin Hoke, who stopped for a short break from playing his guitar. “I sit in the shade, near a coffee shop that has free water. That’s part of the strategy, but it’s better than sitting inside in a hot building,” Hoke said.

Others took time to find something cold to quench the heat. Katie Thornton-Stocks said, “I got mint chocolate chip with rainbow sprinkles. I enjoy it as long as you can get ice-cream.”

Temperatures are forecast to be as high as 97 before the week is out.
