The South Central Head Start Office received a deficiency notice after three children were left unattended.
The South Central Head Start office is being cited for three separate incidents where a child was left unattended. The incidents occurred last fall at Fairview Elementary School and Head Start’s main facility on Bloomington’s west side. The third incident occurred earlier this month at Head Start. South Central Community Action Program Development and Communication director, Blakely Clements declined to give specifics about the incidents, but said none of the children was harmed.
“Any action relating to children’s safety is obviously a big worry to us and that is something that we deal with every day trying to make the children that are with us safe and have a great learning environment,” said Celments. ” So anything is obviously a worry to us.
Clements went on to say that parents shouldn’t worry about the safety of their children at the preschool. He says the staff is receiving additional training following the incidents.
