Old electronic items, such as laptops, computers or telephones which need to be disposed of will have a place this weekend.
The city of Bloomington is partnering with a Chicago organization to safely recycle old electronics. Bloomington Sanitation Director Shelby Walker asked, “What do we do with old electronics when we don’t use them anymore?”
The program can benefit residents and it’s free of charge.
“We want to ensure that all consumers are taken care of properly. We purposely chose Vintage Tech because they have proper certifications to assure they are abiding by the proper electronic recycling programs,” Walker said.
Aging electronics may be dropped off Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the city’s sanitation garage on South Walnut.
