People were in shock moments after the stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair prior to a performance by the country music duo Sugarland.
The family of a man killed in the State Fair disaster has filed a tort claim notice, a first step toward a lawsuit against the state of Indiana.
Carl Brizzi, former Marion County Prosecutor, is representing the survivors of Glenn Goodrich, 49.
“The clock is ticking with regard to, ‘what’s the state gonna do?’” Brizzi said. “I know that folks are talking about stepping up and accepting responsibility and making sure that the families are taken care of. And so, hopefully, those words are not hollow.”
Goodrich’s widow Heather is left to raise their two small sons.
