Expect Traffic Delays In Bloomington This Weekend

The worst area will be the bypass which is under construction.

Motorists should expect delays this weekend due to IU’s commencement ceremonies. IUPD Chief Keith Cash said the biggest concern about the next two days is traffic as people maneuver through unfamiliar areas.

“What’s unique about commencement is not everyone arrives at the same time, nor does everyone leave at the same time,” said Cash. He also said the worst area will be the bypass which is under construction.

“We’ve suggested that if people are familiar with other streets, alternate routes are recommended,” said Cash.

Cash also suggests that graduates move to the stadium after the ceremony is over. People should look for other places to take pictures so traffic can disseminate away from campus.
