What To Expect From Indiana’s Gay Marriage Appeals Hearing

The case challenging Indiana's ban on same-sex marriage makes its way to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals this week.

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals is hearing the case challenging Indiana’s ban on same-sex marriage on Tuesday.

It is the next step in the process after a judge earlier this year ruled Indiana’s marriage laws unconstitutional.

Since that ruling, federal courts around the country, including two appeals courts, have ruled on similar lawsuits.

Indiana University Maurer School of Law Associate Professor Deborah Widiss joined Indiana Newsdesk host Joe Hren on WTIU to talk about how those cases could provide some insight into what to expect Tuesday.
