According to a press release from the Bloomington Police Department, a search of the Sycamore Ridge Landfill produced no new evidence in the case of missing IU student Lauren Spierer.
Police say officers spent nine days sifting through over nine thousand pounds of garbage in hope of uncovering new leads. The operation was concluded after it was determined that the waste being examined was no longer from the date range of when Speirer initially disappeared.
BPD officials says the investigation is still ongoing and new information will be made available as it becomes available.
