Sony announced Monday it was letting go 10,000 employees but will not announce which plants are affected until Thursday.

Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett says it is too early to know the potential impact the expected announcement of 10,000 Sony jobs cut worldwide may have on the local Sony DADC plant.

Bennett says the local plant produces and distributes CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray discs while the rumored layoffs are believed to be concentrated in the company‘s television and computer markets. The new Sony CEO is expected to announce the company‘s restructuring plan this Thursday.
