Meteorologists say there is about at 30-percent chance of a White Christmas this year. While snow may fall Christmas Eve, much of it could be melted before its time to open presents.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service say south central Indiana has about a 30-percent chance of seeing a white Christmas this year.
There’s expected to see a bit of a warm up early next week before temperatures drop on Christmas Eve down to the mid or upper 20’s. Snow could fall after that.
Kokomo and Howard County residents have a greater chance that more of that Monday night snow will stick around. While temperatures around Bloomington will rise above freezing not long after sunrise, temperatures north of Indianapolis may stay below 320 well into Christmas morning.
Plan on the week between Christmas and New Year to be a cold one, with temperatures staying in the upper 20’s during the day, and dipping down into the teens, possibly, overnight.
