Good morning! Here are the stories we’ll be following today:

  • Searchers found the body last night of a missing toddler from Spencer. One-year-old Shaylyn Ammerman went missing early Wednesday morning. Police arrested Kyle Parker, 22, in her disappearance. Police say their investigation is only beginning though and more arrests are possible. An autopsy is expected today. Follow WFIU News (@WFIUNews) for updates on the continuing search.
  • Gov. Pence signed a bill into law last night that bans abortions performed solely because of a fetus’ sex, race or potential disability. The measure also imposes new guidelines for handling aborted and miscarried fetal remains. Today we’re talking to legal scholars about the potential implications of the new law. Follow Barbara Brosher (@BabsofBTown) for updates.
  • The governor also signed  HEA 1386, which allows alcohol sales at Indiana Dunes State Park by automatically granting a liquor license to the Department of Natural Resources. The group Dunes Action is pledging to continue its fight against the legislation and the construction of a pavilion at Indiana Dunes. Becca Costello (@Becca_Costello) has been following the story and will have an update today.
