Customers line up in College Mall in Bloomington to buy food from Chick-fil-A.

A line of about 50 customers wrapped around the food court at the mall in Bloomington on Wednesday afternoon. They were there to show their support for Chick-fil-A’s stance on gay marriage.

A similar scene was reported at chains across the country. The head of Chick-fil-A recently said he was a firm believer in traditional marriage between a man and a woman. His comments ignited a firestorm with some gay rights advocates calling for a boycott of the chain.

Wednesday’s Chick-fil-A appreciation day was the idea of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

Those in line at the food court in Bloomington say they are standing for the biblical view of marriage. They say they do not think it is fair that people are boycotting Chick-fil-a because the restaurant owners aresimply fulfilling their right to free speech.
