Many Indiana-based employees and executives are reporting difficulty contacting parent companies in Japan. Japan America Society of Indiana Executive Director Theresa Kulczak said she‘s been trying to reach some of the sister cities, like Kuji, but has had little luck.
Kulczak said the Japanese company Kahin, which has facilities in Greenfield and Muncie, is headquartered in Sendai where the tsunami hit the hardest. She said damage to the company’s headquarters is not known, but an official statement is expected later in the week.
