A Columbus pawn shop has received a contract with the United States Postal Service to offer some mail services. Columbus Pawn owner Scott Brown says the shop is officially a contract postal unit that offers almost everything to customers as a regular postal branch.
Brown says business is slow for now, but he expects it to pick up as more residents become aware of the new amenities the shop offers. Brown says he doesn’t expect a huge profit from the postal services, but he hopes people will become more exposed to the pawn aspect of his business.
Brown says Columbus Pawn can send international mail and packages and also sells stamps. He says services the shop does not offer include money orders, cash-on-delivery, and passport applications.
