Owner Jim Irsay says it could take several weeks for the Colts to fill the positions.
Colts Vice Chairman Bill Polian and General Manager Chris Polian, Bill Polian’s son, have been fired, owner Jim Irsay announced at a press conference Monday.
“It’s about timing. It’s about energy. It’s about what the time calls for,” Irsay said.
Irsay said no other changes are going to be made at the moment. He did not make any announcements about Jim Caldwell and said it is possible that Caldwell will be back with the Colts next season. The owner praised Bill Polian’s skills and said the decision was not made because of any personal reasons.
“Bill has had a magical, a very rare talent of evaluating players,” Irsay said.
Irsay said the interview and replacement process could take several weeks.
