Colin Powell To Headline Ivy Tech Fundraising Dinner

Colin Powell will headlines an Ivy Tech fundraising dinner in April.

Ivy Tech Community College- Bloomington announced today that former Secretary of State Colin Powell will headline their annual O’Bannon Institute for Community Service’s fundraiser. The fundraising dinner, which will be held at the Bloomington Monroe County Convention Center April 24, benefits the Ivy Tech- Bloomington Center for Civic Engagement.

Interim Chancellor Bradley Thurmond said in a statement:

“On the heels of Chancellor John R. Whikehart’s retirement, Ivy Tech-Bloomington is continuing its annual tradition of hosting the O’Bannon Institute for Community Service in April, and we’re pleased to announce General Powell as the keynote speaker. Additionally, we’re welcoming the Chancellor Emeritus back to campus as the Institute Conversation speaker for Friday, April 25.”

The O’Bannon Institute for Community Service at Ivy Tech- Bloomington hosts a three day conference every year to address local and national issues, and includes a civic engagement awards ceremony, volunteer opportunities, the fundraising dinner and panel discussions.
