US Senate candidates discuss energy and the environment

The race topping the election ballot in Indiana is the one for the open U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Evan Bayh. Regardless of who wins, they’ll be walking into a Congress with a tremendous amount on its plate, from a troubled economy to two Middle Eastern wars. While it’s not been an issue either Dan Coats or Brad Ellsworth have focused on much, the next Congress will also have to deal with serious strains on the nation’s energy supply and the environment. In our ongoing podcast series on the candidates and the issues, Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Marianne Holland takes a look at that challenge and what Indiana’s next senator will have to do to address it.
