The Indiana Department of Transportation awarded Clint0n-based White Construction a $57-million contract this week to complete a three mile section of I-69 in Greene County.
INDOT officials said Indiana submitted the best and lowest bid. The contract is for construction in Section 4 between Drive Branch Road and the State Road 45 interchange in Eastern Greene County.
The entire stretch of I-69 from Crane to just south of Bloomington is expected to be completed by 2014. INDOT is currently working on an environmental assessment for Section 5 in Bloomington and south of Martinsville.
