Another Indiana National Guardsman has been killed in Afghanistan. Spc. Arronn Fields of Knightsville died of injuries suffered in a rocket propelled grenade attack May 21.
Fields, who was 27, deployed in January with the 381st Military Police Company, 81st Troop Command. He was a part of a multi-unit military police force known as Task Force Guardian.
Fields was a graduate of Northview High School in Brazil, Indiana and enlisted in the Guard in 2006. Adjutant General Martin Umbarger says Fields is the 23rd Indiana Guardsmen lost in the line of duty since 2001.
