Morgan Hospital and Medical Center officials have begun talks about a possible merger with Clarian Health.
Clarian Health System has begun discussions about a possible merger with Morgan County Hospital and Medical Center. Officials on both sides are discussing plans of a merger in which Clarian would take over in the hospital’s Martinsville campus. Morgan County Hospital CEO Tom Laux said that the merger should help improve the quality of care already offered.
“I believe the people of Martinsville and Morgan County will be impressed with the caliber and the quality of and the centers of excellence we offer currently and will expand, add, and improve in the future,” Laux said.
Clarian spokesman Ron Stiver said the merger would benefit his company as well, but is quick to point out plans for the merger are still being negotiated. Clarian has merged with several hospitals in recent years, including Bloomington Hospital.
