New city officials were sworn into office over the weekend across the state. In Bloomington, three new city council members took their oath of office in a ceremony Sunday afternoon in city hall.
According to incoming District Five councilman Darryl Neher, his freshman term on council will give him an opportunity to work on not only improving economic growth across the city, but to address infrastructure needs in the neighborhoods he represents.
“You have the core neighborhoods in District Five as well,” he says. You have aging infrastructure and as we see the budget constraints that will be placed on city government, those are going to be challenges.”
Columbus mayor Kristen Brown was sworn into her first term this weekend also, as where new mayors of Greenwood and Mitchell.
