Bloomington officials and leaders of the Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization have received revised estimates regarding how much federal stimulus cash will be funneled their way.
“The projection was [that] $2.7 million would come to Bloomington,” said Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan. “We’re now told that’ll be $3 million.”
Speaking on WFIU’s “Ask the Mayor,” Kruzan said the city’s planning department submitted proposals for nearly 100 projects in order to get the cash. Each proposal included specific coordinates of the land where the economic development would take place, as well as estimates of when projects could be completed and how many jobs would be created.
