Butler Joins Other Universities Opposing HJR-6

HJR-6, the proposed constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in Indiana, is getting opposition from many Indiana universities.

Butler University opposed HJR-6

Butler University announced Thursday that it is joining the list of universities and businesses in Indiana that oppose House Joint Resolution 6 (HJR-6), which creates a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.

Butler President James Danko says the university is “an institution where all people are welcome and valued, regardless of gender, sexual orientation religion or ethnicity.”
