An Indianapolis brew-pub is hoping to start production of its beers at a new facility in Terre Haute later this summer. Bruge Brasserie in Broadripple currently brews its Belgian-style beers on site for sale at the restaurant. But owner Ted Miller is hoping to get his product into other restaurants and retail stores. He says Terre Haute offered his business inexpensive overhead and a convenient point of distribution.
Miller says it was a matter of lucky timing that his business was able to acquire the Terre Haute building, which he says has a lot of history. Miller says the building includes an antique bar, and the facility has an existing three-way liquor license. But Miller says there are no plans to open a retail operation in Terre Haute at this time. He says brewing operations in Terre Haute should be under way by August 23.
