Sunday night‘s storm damaged the roof on the Nashville Elementary School. Superintendent of the Brown County Schools David Shaffer says it is a rubber membrane flat roof and wind got under a portion of the rubber membrane flat roof and lifted both the membrane as well as an insulation layer.
“We have some water damage, particularly in the inner classroom ceiling tiles,” he says. “We have basically assigned those four classes to other rooms in that building.”
The building remained open and classes were held Monday. The school district is waiting for a roofing contractor‘s estimate for the cost of repairs.
