Jackson Creek Trail,  on Bloomington’s south side, is open after just three months of construction.  Federal stimulus funding enabled the trail to be built two years earlier than anticipated.  But Parks and Recreation Department Director of Operations and Development Dave Williams said his department is still waiting for more stimulus funding to continue trail paving projects.

“Our goal is to see the master plan for the entire link to be completed,” he said. “However, the future is such as the money from stimulus funding has been expended, so those projects have not been built. There are no other funds are coming available to us.”

The trail runs from the corner of High and Rogers Street to Sherwood Oaks Park.
