Thousands still in the dark following the latest round of nasty weather. Duke crews are working around the clock. Angeline Protegere says the goal is to get everything restored by the weekend, if not sooner.
“Our line workers are faced with a variety of situations,” she says. “From debris that has fallen on lines to trees that need to be cut and hauled away.”
The problem areas are confined mostly to the Terre Haute and Bloomington areas. Around 55,000 customers were without power at the height of the storm.
Duke is being assisted by crews from the Carolinas and Indianapolis Power and Light (IPL). All IPL customers had power restored as of Thursday morning.
