Bloomington North Informs Parents Of Student Suicide

Bloomington officials say a sophomore student at Bloomington North committed suicide Tuesday.

Bloomington North School officials say the death of one of its students is an apparent suicide. High school principal Jeffry Henderson sent a note to parents Wednesday. He said the student would be sadly missed.

“Any loss of life is difficult to understand, but suicide can be especially difficult,” Henderson said in the note.

The principal also told parents the school would have counselors and social workers available for any students who might need their services.

School officials acknowledged there were rumors the suicide was a response to bullying but said no reports were made to the staff.

It is precisely because bullying is an intractable problem that schools and parents need to get more realistic about it. It’s not going away, so deal with it firmly so it can at least be kept under control. Thus, being a parent I’ve learned to be vigilant and more particular on the safety of my teens especially when it comes with bullying cases. Then I found this site that provides a protection for children from a safety mobile protection that can access family, friends and 911 in times of emergency. I just downloaded their application on their iPhone. Here’s where you can find it: http://safetrec.com/
