Beverage Sales an Election Bellwether?

The tiny town of Story, Indiana is about half an hour southeast of Bloomington. It’s technically unincorporated and consists of a bed and breakfast, centered around a Civil War-era restaurant called the Story Inn.

Bartenders at the Story Inn created two drinks this fall as caricatures of the presidential candidates. WFIU’s Stan Jastrzebski sampled both drinks before Election Day and reports they were not only slyly representative of each candidate, but overall sales proved good predictors for the nationwide contest itself.
