Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan says the state is close to approving the first phase of the city’s B-line trail. Kruzan says the project is pending before the State department of Transportation which has to okay all aspects of the B-line’s design. Plans for the first of five segments of the pedestrian and bike trail were submitted in April. The trail’s first leg will cover the old CSX Railroad corridor from Second Street to Rogers behind Bloomington City Hall. Kruzan says approval is just a matter of being patient with state oversight.
Kruzan says he looks forward to having a final review and approval by the state by the end of summer. He says the city hopes to begin construction by next year.
