Rainy weather during Tuesday night’s IU game brought out mops and buckets inside Assembly Hall. The water leaked onto Mississippi State players but seemed to avoid most of the playing floor.
Associate Athletic Director Chuck Crabb says although phase one of the roof replacement is done, the next phase won’t be complete until spring of next year. Phase 2 includes repair of the ‘clear story’ or mechanical room that juts out from the middle of the roof. Crabb says that’s where the water was leaking in from, not the new roof membrane installed over the summer.
The 2-million dollar roof project is the first one since the building opened in 1971.
