Quarterback Andrew Luck signed his contract Thursday with the Indianapolis Colts. Luck, who was the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, will join his teammates in training camp near the end of next week, according to a press release from the Colts.
Terms of the deal were not immediately released. Colts owner Jim Irsay told reporters in late April he expected Luck‘s deal would be almostsimilar to the four-year, $22 million contract last year‘s top pick, Cam Newton, signed. The number 2 draft pick, Robert Griffin III, sign a 4-year contract worth over$21 million with the Washington Redskins Wednesday.
Luck was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2010 and 2011 while at Stanford University. During the 2011 season, the Stanford football team earned 561 points, the seventh-highest total in the nation.
