Widespread rains will continue today leading to sharp rises in area streams. Forecasters from the National Weather Service are predicting showers and thunderstorms over southern and the southeast portion of Indiana today. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall amounts are expected through late tonight.
Flood warnings have been issued for Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Lawrence, Martin and Bartholomew counties until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday. Some locations in the warning area include Bedford, Seymour, Brownstown, Greensburg, North Vernon, Shoals and Vernon.
The heaviest rain will occur south of Vincennes and Bloomington, but no severe weather is expected. Thunderstorms may return Thursday night through Friday night.
