The BMV is currently taking another look at statues.

Thousands of suspended Indiana driver‘s licenses have been reinstated. The BMV is taking a closer look at statutes and insurance requirements.

The ACLU filed a lawsuit claiming the “Previously Uninsured Motorists Registry” illegally suspended the licenses of motorists who were not required to have insurance under state law.

The BMV and the ACLU have agreed to stay any further legal action as they analyze the existing laws. They may seek clarification from the state legislature.
