40,000 Indiana Homes Without Power After Winter Storm

Almost 40,000 homes in Indiana are without power after temperatures dropped below zero and several inches of snow fell throughout the state.

Thousands of Hoosiers are without power after a winter storm hit the state.

Duke Energy  is reporting 10,169 power outages and Indiana Power and Light is currently reporting 26,183 customers without power. Morgan, Vigo and Howard Counties are reporting the most outages. Below are reported outages for central Indiana, as reported by 6 a.m.

Clay: 212
Hendricks: 58
Howard: 646
Johnson: 10
Monroe: 646
Morgan: 1727
Owen: 131
Putnam: 61
Vigo: 2123

The Wind Chill Warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday and Winter Storm warning in effect until 10 a.m. this morning.
