National Weather Service investigators are working today to possibly confirm more touchdowns in Indiana. Jason Puma with the NWS says, so far, 14 tornado touchdowns have been confirmed from Tuesday’s line of strong storms, including two in Central Indiana.
Puma says and EF1 touched down near Thorntown in Boone County and an EF2 touched down south of Lafayette. The others were spread across the state. Puma says Tuesday night is above average- the state usually has around 20 touchdowns for the entire tornado season.
Puma also says he does expect the number of confirmed twisters to go up.
