Several Hoosier students participating in the Scripps National Spelling Bee have made it through the first two preliminary rounds and are moving forward in the competition.
278 student spellers from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases are participating in the annual spelling be in Washington D.C. Preliminaries began this morning and continue through the afternoon.
Students who pass all three preliminary rounds will move on to the semi finals Thursday morning. The finals are scheduled for Thursday evening.
