Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett addresses the controversy surrounding his eligibility to hold public office. In his first Ask the Mayor since an appellate court ruled in mid-November he was ineligible to run and hold public office under the Hatch Act, Bennett describes his day-to-day job as mayor with the cloud of uncertainty hovering over his past, present and future decisions.
WTIU’s Ann Shea also gets Bennett’s thoughts on how the economic downturn is affecting the city, as well as how he’s lobbying state legislators as they prepare to head to Indianapolis in January for a new session.
