Ask The Mayor
Much like in Columbus and Terre Haute, Bloomington leaders are discussing how trash fees might be tweaked in the coming year.
Mayor Kruzan says the city has had more than 30 employees take early retirement, saving the city more than a million dollars in salary and benefits for the current budget cycle. But he says Bloomington leaders are still struggling with how to pay for some city services, including a widening gap between what’s collected in trash sticker fees and what the city pays for garbage and recycling services.
