Tuesday, April 30: International Jazz Day: Loren Schoenberg And Brent Wallarab

Loren Schoenberg fell in love with jazz as a teenager in the 1970s and went on to become Benny Goodman’s assistant, a bandleader in his own right, the author of numerous liner notes, and a jazz educator and historian of international renown. He also recently brought to light the so-called Savory collection, an archive of professionally-recorded broadcasts from the swing era. He is currently the artistic director of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. On this edition of Just You and Me he discusses the roots of his love for jazz, what you’ll experience at the National Jazz Museum as a visitor, and the importance of jazz as an enduring artform. You can listen to the interview here.
