WGBH Re-launches Boston Classical Music Station

On the night of Nov 30, long-time commercial, classical music station WCRB in Boston signed off the air.  At 5am ET the following morning, Dec 1, 2009, it rose from the ashes under the care of WGBH and will continue as a non-commercial, classical operation.

WCRB began in 1948, starting 60 years of classical music programming and accomplishing such landmark achievements as presenting the first live concert broadcast of the Boston Pops Orchestra (from the Esplanade) and being twice ranked highest-rated major-market classical station in the U.S.

Harmonia extends congratulations to the staff of WGBH on the launching of the new (WCRB) 99.5 All Classical!

Over the last year, Harmonia reached the ears of listeners in Boston via WGBH. And while Harmonia is not initially part of the new 99.5 All Classical schedule, we hope that, as the dust settles during this transition, Harmonia may be re-added in the near future.

We welcome our Boston listeners to let WGBH know how much you value Harmonia. Click here to access WGBH's contact form.
