We’ll hear how composers have reused their own tunes and ideas, and what ideas they’ve borrowed from others. Plus, we’ll hear several instances of contrafacta.
Harmonia takes a trip this week through Renaissance England, Italy, and Spain with the London-based ensemble Circa 1500 and its director Nancy Hadden.
This week on Harmonia we explore examples of how instrumentalists created diminutions out of music by Palestrina, Crequillon, and others.
