Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart’s sonatas for violin and keyboard are vivacious pieces designed to show off each player. The new Chandos label recording by Duo Amade brings a fresh perspective to some relatively familiar music. Violinist Catherine Mackintosh and fortepianist Geoffrey Govier offer an excellent and unique alternative to the recordings already available.

Josef Myslivecek

Josef Myslivecek is a little-known composer from the Classical Era who is finally getting the recognition he deserves. The new CPO label release of his complete quintets and octets by the L’Orfeo Wind Ensemble is a welcome addition, to say the least. Their performance is vibrant and filled with energy.
