As we plant, we envision a future full of fruitfulness and beauty – bounty and beauty.
Gardeners need to be aware of the frost dates in their region. This means the date of the last frost in the springtime and the first frost in autumn.
No gardener or flower lover in this area can imagine spring without daffodils. Yet in parts of the globe where winters are not cold enough to chill the bulbs.
A native of the Mediterranean region, it resists settling into Midwestern gardens unless we pamper it a bit.
Hot dry weather is a challenge for gardeners, who long for plants that don’t wilt in high summer.
